Penury

Crossing the lane in well-clad crowd Could not see any other Feast arranged in a dazzling way Guest a host exchanging wish! Stepped out saw a lean boy Clean the plates thrown! Greed in hungry eyes Lick plates till no content More and more came giggling No notice of this baby Eyes lifeless and lips dry Look like a skeleton to me! Bent asked him his need Came a frail smile Puny hands reach mine Touching my feet! Sat beside I wondered We remain the same besides attire Hunger has some pains Pinching sharp Could feel the crave Penury gives this baby!! _______ _______
