A Mommy’s Me-Time

I sit,
Drearily wilt.

I pick up
The tea cup,
To charge up.

I see a book,
Open in a nook;
I murmur nonstop gobbledygook,
And grab, lunging crook.

I absorb every word, lost
Inside the labyrinthine plot, crisscrossed.
A shrill voice echoes embossed;
Little hands accost; book tossed;
There goes mommy's time uncrossed!
