A Paradise Lost

She lay on the floor, lifeless cold A daughter's paradise forever lost How I wish she walks past that door Embrace me, take me to a tranquil shore May once again affection shine through her eyes Cradle me in lap through the dark skies Just once again cuddle away my fears Make a blanket of love, a bag full of cheers One more time hold that turbulent storm Ringing in my ears 'Be brave, stay strong' This one time pick me up as I fall Whisper 'No time to sorrow, take stock of the goal' How realisation dawned with a serrated knife Ephemeral is spring, so is life
