She plopped herself down like every tot her age, Blue eyes, pink skirt, smile like a dazzling river I sit beside her to see the colors play Would the sun turn yellow and green leaves shiver? She began her creation, happy and gay She demanded the purple and smeared the sheet Puzzled, what went about, I await her say Purple shades shine bright, I accept my defeat What is it darling, why did you spoil the page? No, I did not, Ma'am, how pretty it looks, See! I close my eyes, yes, purple is all I see! Note: The girl is blind and is presenting the picture of her world as she sees it.
