And the Mountains Echoed

This one is another Khaled Hosseini classic. This is essentially the story of a siblings' lost and found story but the way it has been woven with the magic of the author's words in time, space and numerous characters is what it makes stand out. The story starts in the 1930s in Afghanistan and ends in 2010, interspersing three generations and continents (US, Paris, Greek Island). New characters are introduced right until the last chapter with each one having a significant role and a message to convey. This is one of those magnificent reads that traverses not just the external travels but also internal. It manages to wake the innermost emotions and makes one feel for the characters. The journey of the siblings is described with such depth and sensitivity that it does not read like children's literature but will speak to adults alike. Overall an inspiring novel. Waiting for another gem from the author. Buy the book here:
