Forlorn, forgotten With faded cushions The corner beckons. Engaged, I ignore Its umpteen summons.

The notebook pages Laze on each other, Untouched since ages, Sulk in their slumber Like jilted lovers. Sunlight streaming in From the glass ceiling Attempting to tease Lures me,even as The rug rests in peace. Warm and inviting Ah! This harmless fling. I strive to evade, As I foresee a Busy day ahead. Alas! But in vain, As the parched pages Flutter in disdain I end the long drought Words spurt from my pen. _
