In Desert Places

Far out in the desert I found a garden grown wild From the heat of the sun And the water of visions Glimpsed by wanderers of yore Whose footsteps had vanished In the uncountable particles Of sands that had become Like the everlasting stars In the oasis of my dreams. If you follow my path Remember to stop and gaze At the faraway horizon.  Don’t forget to pick up A fistful of those starry grains And ponder on the mysteries Of how flowers blossom Alone in the solitudes Of a barren wasteland. Only then you will realize The garden I stumbled upon Was the garden of my heart That suddenly burst into flowers At the thought of your presence In the tomorrow of my life. ____
