Ingress to Life

Abshaar Saeed posted under PenMuse-20 Poetry on 2020-06-23

The gate of life unguarded
Adorned with
souvenirs of those who remain
And those who long departed
In this grith
All sorrow and all joy contain
Lorn place, embrace or glee
All taken
With little left before bereft
None that belonged to me
Forsaken
Slightly but heavy on my chest
Powerless over all
But not mine
My soul was so frayed yet unbind
To endure what befall
Of my shrine
Latched the gate when they looked behind.
