Lesson Won

Once I had a function somewhere And not a decent dress to wear Looking in the mirror, I couldn’t bear How gross I looked, like a bear. I struggled to get into my jeans But quit midway cursing my genes I wish I had a figure to die for And not a size of ten times four Then one day a friend came by To my insecurities, I said goodbye She taught me life’s lesson Of acceptance, my worry did lessen In my favourite jeans, out on a date I remember her words till date How you look is a matter light It shouldn’t steal your inner light. ________________ ________________
