Mind

The mind is like the star
That glitters from afar
But burns like a fire
One and all that is near
Into ashes and char.

The mind is like the sea
That is boundless and free
But confines the waves
Like imprisoned slaves
In fleeting whims of fancy.

The mind is like time
Both banal and sublime
That sweeps too fast
Through future and past
In sunny or rainy clime.

The mind is old and new
Its joys are many, sorrows too
Everything in magic veiled
Waiting to be unveiled
This enchanted place is in you!
