My Husband’s Gift

I lost my precious gold chain An anniversary gift from Spain. My heart shattered, then and there When it vanished through the drain. I cried silently in prayer Arguing how this cannot be fair. I got to wear it only once I cannot miss it, I swear! It had enhanced my appearance Compliments, like fragrance Had followed me that day Much to the ladies’ annoyance He asked me the next day “Did you miss your chain?” “No way!” I replied, but he smiled and said “Here! I got it from the walkway!” ___________________ ___________________
