Ode to a Star

There shines a little star  So far beyond our ken; A speck of silver bright, Twinkling and shimmering On the veil of the night. There shines a little star – A lost pilgrim’s lone hope, Mark of the Lord’s glory, A tinsel pure, gracing  The crown of a fairy. There shines a little star – Fixed in the firmament, Soul mate of Nyx and Nut, A diamond, that needs no Colour, carat or cut! There shines a little star – My confidante sublime, Balm to my throbbing sore, Caring for, comforting, My bruised and battered core. Glossary: Nyx -   An ancient Greek goddess, believed to be the personification of night. Nut – Goddess of the sky, as mentioned in Egyptian mythology.
