Phoenix in Me

Scars you made me adorn oft crows,
Frippery thoughts mock chilling bones,
Persistent memories play havoc & deliver blows.

Soul peeps from rib’s confine and moans,
Moon is paler, why, who can tell,
My innocent soul emits fearful grieving sobs & groans.

Brazen betrayal burnt to hell,
Deceitful shadow slips like eel,
Now illuminated galaxy is where I will dwell.

Why should I suffer rot and reel,
Phoenix in me will rise and shine,
Invigorating my asphyxiated dying zeal.
