Pingali Venkayya – The Forgotten Hero

Moumita Dutta posted under PenMuse-29 Poetry on 2021-04-21

There was a freedom fighter named Pingali
Who was a fellow quite jolly
He worshipped the 'Mahatma'
And designed the 'Tiranga.'

He was an educationist
And hailed from Krishna district
A doctorate in geology
Who died in poverty.

The National flag is a symbol of pride
And is respected nationwide
He was known for his wisdom and piety
A hero, who is forgotten by the society.

Glossary:
Mahatma- Mahatma Gandhi
Tiranga- The Indian National Flag
