Rukmini’s Apprehensions
I am in love with the man in blue
His peacock feather, flute and butter too.
Blueberries, Java plums and peacocks a few
Amidst flax, iris, lobelia blue flowers to view
My garden blooms and lauds his glory
O pigeon, O dove to Dwaraka you fly
Tell him about Shishupal the sly
Krishna is the apple of my eye
To express my feelings ,I feel not shy
I wish to elope as Krishna’s bride.
Laugh not, I too know he is omniscient
Yet through the priest, a message I sent
My Lord and his ways are playfully bent
Hence these apprehensions and augment
Though I am Goddess Lakshmi incarnate!
