Shadows of Love

Why oh why does my silly heart behave the way it does It aches for you despite not getting a backward glance The pain of  lost love is often more than a lost life can be My heart yearns for the time we spent, the memories we made Every time I think of us, my heart does this little dance Why oh why does my silly heart behave the way it does The smiles, the love, the hugs and the kisses, all refuse to fade The parting words, the lonely nights, a cruel trick of chance The pain of  lost love is often more  than a lost life can be Your smiling face, your loving look, like sunshine in a glade Still work their magic as the memories take me into a trance Why oh why does my silly heart behave the way it does You and me never became us, never have I been so dismayed The poignancy never lost, the wistfulness  ever a lance The pain of  lost love is often more  than a lost life can be I attempt to smile as my life lies unraveled and then remade I laugh, I cry, I go on, I live, nay, I exist, in a life gone askance Why oh why does my silly heart behave the way it does The pain of  lost love is often more  than a lost life can be For more of such content follow us on Social Media:
