"Everything about her was a lie. Laying on the bed in the hospital, Dr. Batra was pondering on the new disruption of the neighborhood.ÿ
Ryma?s enchanting hazel eyes and spellbinding sweet voice hypnotized anybody she met. All of ten yet she knew every trick of the trade. She looked docile and quiet when she arrived a few months ago. Everybody was attracted to her charm and cuteness. She was a hit with the kids.ÿ
Her first mischief was at an ice cream parlor. Ryma with her friends enjoyed the ice cream but when it was time to pay, she started a fight with one of the girls. Soon the fight escalated and got physical. The owner feared the losses and negativity the fight might create. He mediated to stop the fight and asked them to leave. The girls stopped immediately and grinned discreetly. The owner got suspicious. He asked Ryma what was the fight about while she was leaving. She was caught unaware. She abruptly said that the other girl called her a cheater and hurriedly left.ÿ
A few days later, an old lady fainted when she saw a snake in the garden. The gardener was surprised as he had never seen a snake in the area. He found out that it was fake. He saw a petrified Ryma standing nearby. The gardener understood the prank. When he asked her why she played such a ridiculous joke, she did not know what to say. She blamed another child and ran away.
Her next victim was the baker. He gave her muffins for free when she told him that her mother was ill. Later, he saw her mother in a restaurant. When he came to her house for his payment, she rebuffed all allegations and started crying profusely.ÿ Her mother scolded the poor baker for falsely accusing her daughter. The baker felt cheated while the little girl felt proud of her acting prowess.ÿ
The other day, she was caught stealing candies from the store. She winked at one of the kids and he took the blame on himself. The store owner tried to talk out the kid but he still pleaded guilty. She left the store with candies and a smile.ÿ
In her latest mischief, a stray dog was running frantically as someone had tied a string of crackers to his tail. Dr. Batra, a veterinarian, tried to rescue the helpless canine. While saving him, the rescuer got severe burns. He had to be hospitalized immediately. Some people had earlier seen Ryma with the crackers. When she was questioned, she denied her involvement by claiming that she still had those crackers.ÿ
Dr. Batra was tired of these tricks. He had a plan in his mind to teach the little devil a lesson. The prankster smiled when she came to see him. The doctor smiled back.ÿ
