Trail of Golden Flowers

The countryside was rich-
Rows of golden blossoms;
They heralded spring,
The season of warmth
After the harsh winter.

They waltzed beautifully,
Did a merry dance,
Their petals tickled
So flirtatiously by
The fluttering breeze.

Beneath the sky of
An azure shaded blue,
They pranced in delight
Throughout the day
Without monotony.

They loved life with
Their heart and soul,
Knowing not what
Tomorrow would hold-
They could be blown away.

An ode to these beauties
With fragrance magical,
Mesmerising us all,
These are daffodils
In heaven’s own garden!
