Travelling Light
Is it not easier to travel light,
Than doggedly carry all that I own?
Leave doubts behind but take along my might,
As I venture into terrain unknown.
A balm to soothe feet hurting now and then,
Is it not easier to travel light?
A knife alright, but first I grab my pen,
Should I ever need to put up a fight.
Not clothes, but a stitch to mend torn ends tight,
Blandest breads yet with pickle on my plate,
Is it not easier to travel light?
Though not piles of books, I pack a clean slate.
Lessons, not luxuries, I did carry,
My journey itself bestowing delight,
Agile, not crushed with greed and worry,
Is it not easier to travel light?
