Verbophilia

Our love affair began, when I could barely speak I loved the rhythm of the spoken sound Naturally could spell phonetically ere I could write! Alphabets were sweeter than those made with sugar In those days of yore, Street food was wrapped in newspapers Gobbled up the eats so I can read the newsprint Never understood the meaning but liked the sound Graduated to reading comics barely paying attention to the caricatures As the written form was the only attraction Became a verbivorous bookworm Consuming pages faster than the silkworm would leaves Now as I approach my evening years, eyesight falling My undying love for you, has only grown and grown My parting shot will be you in my dying lips!   Penmancy gets a small share of every purchase you make through these links, and every little helps us continue bringing you the reads you love!
