What Abounds, Loses its Charm

I gaze and gaze at the far-flung horizon, Allured by the good-bye kiss of the two lovers. Fatigued by the labor of the passing day, Hark, I hear the song of dusk falling away. As the evening sky turns pale and dull, A pleasant breeze keeps me flowing. Birds in flight head for their home far and near, Bemused I look at them in complete awe. And when falls on me the dark and dreary night, The blooms of moonflower shimmer all the way, Coupled with the serenades of the nightingale, Blessed I am with such enchanting moments. I just then pray to God for a wish, Just a wish and only once in my lifetime; How can I behold these joys for eternity? But I fear - what abounds loses its charm.   Penmancy gets a small share of every purchase you make through these links, and every little helps us continue bringing you the reads you love!
