Prompt:

Parallelismus Membrorum

Dates back to biblical times and is of Hebrew origin, Parallelismus Membrorum or grammatical parallelism is an independent clause presenting parallels or opposites in balance using contrasting and complimentary extensions.

Check the sample poem below to get a better idea of the form.

I am wondering
about your certainty.
I’m always wrong;
you know everything.
You are always talking,
so I’ll be silent.
Why shall I answer
when you ask questions?
You knew everything,
or am I wrong?

Another two-line example is:

Hebrew; Proverbs 10:1
A wise son gladdens his father,
but a foolish son grieves his mother.
